At Maplewell we believe that it is our responsibility to ensure that our students leave school equipped with the knowledge, skills and understanding to live their lives as independently as possible. This includes preparing them for further education, life-long learning and employment.
Through discrete career lessons delivered within the PSHEE programme of study, enterprise opportunities, work experience, college tasters and courses, and the Life Skills programme, we aim to prepare our students for life beyond Maplewell

Enterprise Challenge
4 year 10 students began an ENTERPRISE CHALLENGE by visiting ALSTEC in Leicester. Their challenge is to raise awareness of Health and Safety in schools by contributing as a team to their community through action and education.
The team have focussed on the issue of falls at work, which account for a lot of injuries each year. They have produced a poster to warn of the dangers of using furniture instead of ladders and will brief all the teachers and LSAs on best practice.
